Torch Award for Ethics

1st Bank Yuma was truly honored and humbled to be announced the winner of the 2020 Better Business Bureau “Torch Award for Ethics”. The bank was named the winner in the greater Arizona region, in the 51-150 employee category. There is no way the bank would have received the recognition without our loyal customers and the wonderful communities (Yuma and Nogales) in which we serve.

"The #YumaBBB is very proud that our community recognizes deserving businesses for our Torch Award. In the past we have had many very deserving candidates and several Finalists, but it had been since 2002 that a business from Yuma had won. We at the Better Business Bureau are thrilled that the award once again calls Yuma home, and for 1st Bank Yuma to be the winner, for all they do in the community, it is clearly a very deserving winner. I know 1st Bank Yuma will live up to the ideals of Ethics, Trust, Community that the 2020 Torch Award represents."

- John Hessinger - Yuma Community Development Director, Better Business Bureau

“As a community banking institution, our focus is on our customers.  It is important that our customers trust we will look out for their best interest.  In order for us to instill that trust, we adopted what we call a “Value Added Culture” early in the bank’s formation.  One of the tenants of that culture is “honesty and integrity in all we do!”  Maintaining the highest ethical standards is engrained in our training, operations, and culture.  We are proud to be the only company in Yuma, AZ to win the BBB Torch Award for Ethics.  I am very proud to be part of an organization and work with people that place such high value on ethics.”

- Terry W. Frydenlund - President/CEO, 1st Bank Yuma
